Why Use Essential Oils

Essential oils are wonderful. Little bottles of liquid magic that can transform your health and wellbeing through aromatherapy. They have been used for thousands of years for both therapeutic and medicinal purposes, and are present in many household products to aid relaxation, enhance the senses and promote skin-healing. Aromatherapy is thought to have numerous health benefits. Experts believe certain oils can improve sleep, relieve stress and help us unwind. With life constantly becoming busier and as people turn to holistic and organic remedies more often, essential oils prove to be a popular and important of many people’s daily routines. So, what are essential oils?

Essential oils are liquids extracted from flowers, leaves, roots, fruits and seeds that are formulated to work in harmony with our bodies, promoting well-being and naturally boosting our health.

Health benefits of Aromatherapy Essential oils are highly concentrated extracts of the plants they have come from, created using a natural extraction process. They are very easy to use, and your nose will guide you over which ones you prefer. Put simply, you'll either like the fragrance, or you won't. Everyone is individual.

If you are putting them directly onto your skin, you will need a carrier oil. At Senss we use a blend of sunflower and sweet almond oil.

Alternatively, you can put a few drops on your pillow or handkerchief and inhale their gorgeous aromas.

There are so many benefits to using essential oils and aromatherapy, and our senses are hugely powerful things. Each oil has its own benefits, triggering emotions and feelings through the power of scent. They can support relaxation and stress relief, will aid mood, and are even said to be able to boost circulatory health!

Using essential oils in skincare can be so beneficial due to their nature and they ways they work. They can soothe and relieve. At Senss, using essential oils in our massage serum, they are designed to calm and relax, while the carrier oils gently nourish the skin. Remember, when used in a massage, essential oils should never be used undiluted.
